On March 3rd, 2006 the American Academy for Emergency Medicine in India and the Emergency Management and Research Institute (EMRI) signed a Statement of Alliance pledging to work together on shared goals for the improvement of emergency care for all people in India.

   

 

Statement of Alliance

The American Academy for Emergency Medicine in India (AAEMI) and the Emergency Management and Research Institute (EMRI) jointly strive to promote, support and advance the missions and goals of each and to work together whenever possible and appropriate.

To this end, this Statement of Alliance constitutes a pledge to work together on shared goals regarding the improvement of emergency management.

Whereas, AAEMI is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting emergency medicine in India, serving as an umbrella organization representing over 100 members, with executive office in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, United States of America;

Whereas, EMRI is a not-for-profit society working in public-private partnership, dedicated to advancement of emergency management, based in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India;

Whereas, AAEMI’s and EMRI’s primary objectives are excellence in patient Pre-Hospital care, teaching and applied research in different types of Emergencies and to pursue their aspirations in professional and community affairs;

Whereas, AAEMI consists of Emergency Physicians who are pioneers in all areas of Pre-Hospital care with decades of experience and internationally recognized expertise in teaching, patient care and curriculum development;

Whereas, EMRI has strategically partnered with several other organizations, such as Satyam Computer Services Ltd., NENA,Government of Andhra Pradesh, among others, in order to promote the public’s Right to Safety;

Whereas, both AAEMI and EMRI share a common interest in maintaining an ongoing international forum for discussions related to all aspects of Emergency Medical Services and training programs;

Therefore, to further the critical importance of improving the quality, delivery and management of emergency management services, AAEMI and EMRI jointly agree to the following:

Point 1: AAEMI and EMRI agree to work together in good faith to encourage a continuous dialog, participation in Medical and Paramedic training activities with both nationally and internationally accredited curricula.

Point 2: AAEMI and EMRI agree to work together to establish opportunities, including fellowships, for EMRI’s EM physicians to observe EM practice in the USA and coordinate USA EM residents and medical students to rotate on EM electives at several sites where EMRI operates.

Point 3: AAEMI will promote EMRI’s participation in Applied Research & Training programs by coordinating between EMRI and internationally recognized Researchers.

Point 4: EMRI and AAEMI will create a link on their respective websites to each other’s website.


Signed and agreed to on this 3rd day of March in the year 2006. This Statement of Alliance shall be in effect and will be automatically renewed annually unless terminated by action of the governing body of either organization, upon thirty days written notice to the other organization.
