AAEMI BOARD OF DIRECTORS' MEETING
July 19th, 2002

Officers Present:
Drs. George Abraham, Kumar Alagappan, Priti Jain, Swaminatha Mahadevan, Mihir Meghani, Pinaki Mukherji, Indrani Sheridan

Absent:
Drs. Abhi Desai, Sivarama Guntur, Rani Kumar, Vibhu Narang, Prakash Phulwani
AAEMI President Dr George Abraham called the meeting to order at 6:10 pm.
Minutes of the August 4th 2001 meeting were unanimously approved.

• Dr Abraham summarized AAEMI activity for 2002
• AAEMI has received a 501 C3 status by the IRS, designating it a not for profit organization.
• Individual membership certificates have been prepared and will be mailed out soon
• A contract has been signed with the Pennsylvania Medical Management Association to manage AAEMI's secretarial affairs, which will include, membership lists, dues, certificates and general correspondence.
• Several organizations including PA ACEP currently use this group.
• AAEMI's address has been changed from Dr Phulwani's residence to the Pennsylvania Medical Management Association in Harrisburg, PA

AAEMI Account:
It was decided that the current bank account with the credit union at UPMC in Johnstown, PA would be kept there, as they have been extremely cooperative and helpful. The 2 current signatories are Drs. Priti Jain and George Abraham.
AAEMI's Attorney and CPA will also be retained for now.

Activity with India:
A shipment of books was recently sent to Hyderabad
Dr Abraham has contacted the Kerala Medical Graduate group, and they are willing to help develop EM in Kerala. They are to meet in Toronto on Aug 10, 2002. Dr Abraham will represent AAEMI at the meeting and make a presentation to the group.

The balance for the organization is low. There is $1605.19 remaining in the account. A discussion followed regarding ways to cut expenses and increase revenue.
